Also, if you're ever stranded in your car during a blizzard, you can also fit the wider 3-wick survival candles in it and use candle power to melt snow and heat water for drinks and packets of soup. (Obviously you'd never build a twig fire inside your car).
It's a simple, cheap and elegant solution for backpacking and (with the right emergency candles & food packets) a potential life-saver for a stranded motorist.
The only reason this gets a 4/5 is that it's a copied Chinese design of the Emberlit Titanium Stove which runs for about $60-80 USD. However, this was machined properly and assembles well, and is half the price - that's how Chinese imports should be, unlike the poorly machined Uberleben products. I have family that worked in CNC for years and couldn't believe how crappy of a job Uberleben did, but were quite impressed with this stove, especially being in titanium.
Uberleben cut my hand open and wasn't even built well enough to fit together properly. This one went together perfect first try and has the added two bars for an alcohol stove or fuel tablets. Where I live when it gets wet, it can be near impossible to find dry wood and tinder.
If it was made in the USA, it would get a 5/5. Sorry @ Emberlit, but these stoves are not worth more than what Chinese brands are charging. This is a "good" Chinese product.
You'll still want to be careful with the edges on disassembly but I was cut by the Uberleben stove because it did not fit together or come apart properly. These stoves are easy to assemble and if you are careful when popping the plates apart you won't have that problem.
If you were on the fence about it, go with this one. If you can afford to spend double for the same thing to support the US economy, buy Emberlit.
Pros: Easy to feed even with long sticks as the fire box and opening is close to the ground. A pretty focused flame for smaller pots. When really stuffed with wood it seems to not burn too hot because of some air restrictions and allows the wood to burn a little longer but still with a lot of heat, a more controlled burn rather tan say the IKEA hack stove that ate wood like crazy and half the heat just went out the sides.. it’s well enough machined and went together easily once you get the hang of it. It’s less susceptible to wind than the others with solid sides and it’s small openings at the top of the stove helped focus the flame and help keep the flames from just blowing away from the bottom of the pot . It packs smaller than any of the others by a lot.
Cons:… dirty hand putting it together or taking it apart.
I had never used one of these flat packing wood stoves before and was somewhat skeptical, but really it turned out to work incredibly well. There’s nothing fancy about it just to basic good design. Since I wasn’t carrying this on my back I added a small 5 x 5“ 3 mm thick aluminum plate that I could rest on top of the stove. This worked well for simmering food and not burning things on the bottom of a thin titanium pot. I could cook rice for 20 minutes and not burn anything. It also works well for tortillas as a makeshift Comal.
It’s so small and worked so well I’m getting another for a duel stove kayaking setup. Really just a good piece of kit.

Re assembly and **BRACES**: My military style mess tins sit on top and I'm not using the alcohol burner mode (though I do have one which is why I bought this version) so I don't need or use the various internal braces, and it's rock solid. It DOES NOT NEED THEM in my experience for wood. If people are fiddling with the braces every time I'd advise not bothering unless you need to. I see also someone complaining about them warping, maybe he was using them when he didn't need to or actually in the burning wood? You certainly don't want the internal ones with wood involved, and the top ones I'd say are likely for small things going on top that might fall in, like mug sized things, not larger pots/pans etc.
It certainly cooked everything I want so far, I'm happy with it, the alcohol burner is dejected as this is more fun :)
