Not so bulky that it pushes my husband to the side, but substantial enough to keep me properly aligned, supported and cozy. My old u-shaped pillow was frustrating because the sides kept rolling off the side of the bed. This c-shape stays put. AND I love the long zipper along the side, which makes it so much easier to remove the cover when it's laundry day. Very happy with this pillow! :)

However over my pregnancy I did feel like it started to wear out and was forming to my head, which made the stuffing push away and stopped supporting my head. I got this because I'm recovering from shoulder surgery and sleeping propped up on my back in my usual post surgery u shaped pregnancy pillow with a huge pillow sling just isn't working. I did figure out I can sleep on my side somewhat comfortably (6hrs of sleep is an improvement over 2-3hrs), so I started looking for different configurations of pregnancy pillows that are more comfortable right now.

I came across this one and other reviews mention using it for shoulder issues so I figure I'll give it a shot.
Right out of the vacuum sealed bag I noticed one annoyance, it's not in the pillowcase as shown in the picture. Since I can't use my dominant hand to lift, pull, or twist anything there's no way I can put this in the included pillowcase. Not a dealbreaker, but annoying for my situation.

Once out of the bag for a bit it's fluffed up, but it's not very full of stuffing. It's pretty understuffed and I'll have to try to add filling from my other pillow to build it up. For $50 this could've had more fluff in it.
Haven't slept on it yet, but I think it'll be ok once it's got more filling.
Update: this doesn't have enough structure to keep me on my side when I sleep. Woke up several times in the night flat on my back with my injured shoulder in a weird position that hurt. No clue how the people in the ad are sleeping so cosily in their side in this, especially straight out the box, but this is getting returned.
