Customers are mixed about the performance of the rake. Some mention that it works well on new snow, while others say that it doesn't work well on wind blown compacted snow. Some say that the front edge just goes over snow, not under it.
"...It won't carve off the snow if it has sat long enough to compress into ice but if you use it on fresh, soft snow it works like a champ." Read more
"...We cleaned off the chicken coop too. It worked great. So glad we did it's been snowing for the last week...." Read more
"...But more importantly, Snow Joe proved unreliable and failed me in time of need. Just go to your local hardware store. That's what I ended up doing" Read more
"...Works well on new snow but not so much on wind blown compacted snow." Read more
Customers are mixed about the ease of assembly of the rake. Some mention that it's easy to add or take off additional poles as needed, and it'll make it a lot easier. However, others say that it was not easy to assemble, took too much time to put the poles together, and was difficult to redo.
"...This is at the Y-shaped part of it, meaning it cannot be assembled. The return window closed a long time ago, so the money is wasted...." Read more
"Pros: Easy to add or take off additional poles as needed.Be sure of area around you...." Read more
"...Also the fabric does not roll up easily and can be quite frustrating. It's a cool idea, but very poor execution. Big waste of money...." Read more

Customers are mixed about the size of the rake. Some mention that it has a good length to it, and the extensions were sufficient to be long enough. However, others say that it's quick to fray slide fabric, has poor fitting parts, and does not fit together well.
"...It's got a good length to it, I was able to do my whole roof from the ground. It moved a lot of snow for me today and definitely did not disappoint!" Read more
"So I got my product and tried to put it together however, the arm attachments do not fit on the roller at all. I’ve tried everything...." Read more
"While it does remove snow from the roof and is long enough to reach the top of my single floor house, it not only leaves a layer of snow, but it..." Read more
"Does not fit together. Not well built" Read more
Customers are dissatisfied with the quality of the rake. They mention that it failed them in a time of need, was defective, and didn't really work. They also say that the hand crank doesn't work well and the mechanism is not strong enough to roll up. "...It didn't seem to be very sturdy but after you start using it you realize that it doesn't need to be...." Read more
"Doesn't work like the video shows or at least it didn't for me. I was able to still use it to get snow off my roof." Read more
"...But more importantly, Snow Joe proved unreliable and failed me in time of need. Just go to your local hardware store. That's what I ended up doing" Read more
"...Other than that, it seems to be very sturdy with no slop in the pole joints. Attaching the roller to fork took some doing...." Read more
Customers are dissatisfied with the value of the rake. They mention it's cheaply made, not worth the money, and a pile of useless metal.
"...The return window closed a long time ago, so the money is wasted. But more importantly, Snow Joe proved unreliable and failed me in time of need...." Read more
"...It's a cool idea, but very poor execution. Big waste of money. Unfortunately, I didn't attempt to use it until long after returns had expired." Read more
"...Overall was a decent value for the money." Read more
"...You definitely get what you pay for with this product. Cheap, cheap, cheap!!!" Read more
Customers are dissatisfied with the cut quality of the rake. They mention that the cutting edge is too blunt, and the 4 extension pieces are cut incorrectly. They also say that the rake has a big design flaw, and is virtually worthless with significant snow amounts.
"Doesn't work its way to the bottom, the cutting edge is to blunt so it rides up on the snow." Read more
"The main problem is that the 4 extension pieces are cut incorrectly and none of them will attach to the roller section...." Read more
"...It would just spin on itself. That is a big design flaw. No one wants to manually rewrap that long mat...." Read more
"...First one was defective, would not snap together because it was poorly cut out, uneven. Requested a replacement and the exact same situation!..." Read more
Customers find the rake difficult to roll up. They mention that the twists and turns make it impossible, the flap/slide as designed does not roll out and down, and the fabric does not fold easily. They also say that the flap does not slide evenly, and it's a chore to roll it back up.

Jury is out on the plastic fittings to connect the pole to the head, and where the two arms attach to the fabric roller. But the handle that is intended to roll the fabric back up is pretty useless......mine just spun. I called the "call for parts line" included and they said I had to send the whole thing back in and they would send out a new one. Instead, I just roll it up by hand (a little bit like putting 20' of toilet paper back on the roll).
I will say if you have any wind on the day you plan to use it, the fabric keeps blowing sideways/twisting and the snow doesn't slide down it. It could probably use some sort of rod across the end of the fabric that has some weight to keep it from twisting/blowing.
Overall a good idea. Works, but could be better with a few small changes.
