truck bed paint and coating regular and professional grade brush on and spray

Truck Bed Paint and Protection

The premium selection of Rust-Oleum Truck Bed Coating products provides a fast and practical way to extend the longevity of vehicles. Whether it's to keep new trucks looking their best or to revitalize rusted, weathered beds after years of use, these rust-resistant formulas ensure exceptional protection from the elements and wear. Versatile paints can also be used on fenders, step areas, trailer floors and more.

Attractive Finish That Extends the Life of Truck Beds

before and after truck bed rugged textured weather resistant protective coating

Premium Bed Liner: Built for the Long Haul

Weather, rust and wear can cause major damage to truck beds over time, shortening their usable life and leaving unsightly marks. Rust-Oleum truck bed coatings all contain the powerful Stops Rust formula to halt corrosion and protect vulnerable metal from moisture. Specialized textured paints also include fade, chip, and scratch resistance to ensure that surfaces stay sealed and attractive through harsh conditions.

Use on new truck beds to ensure they stay in top condition or on old, worn beds to restore them to like-new quality.

Choosing the Right Coating

spray on aerosol truck bed and running board coating

brush on or roll on truck bed paint for uv protection

truck bed clear protective film and coating for scratch resistance

Aerosol

Spray on aerosols go on fast and make it easier to create a uniform, drip-free finish. They are ideal for coating tight spaces, corners and curves where brushes may have trouble reaching.

Brush-On

Traditional quarts or gallons can be used with a brush, roller or paint spraying system. They allow for more direct control during application and offer greater total coverage per can.

Clear Coat

Clear coats allow for the same degree of protection as opaque coatings while still letting the beauty of the original surface show. Great for keeping new truck beds looking their best.

Proper Preparation for Better Results

Sand down gloss surfaces and remove loose paint

wash surface to remove dirt and debris to ensure proper adhesion

mask off areas to protect

apply in 2 to 3 light coats for best coverage and protection

Remove Paint and Rust

Remove any loose paint or rust from surface. For better final coat adhesion, lightly sand surface with medium grit sand paper.

Thoroughly Clean Surface

Remove all dirt, grime, grease and residue from area to be painted. Allow to dry completely.

Mask Off Areas

Use painter's tape and coverings to mask off areas that you do not want coated. This will help avoid overspray errors.

Apply Paint

Using method indicated on label, apply 2-3 light coats. Refer to full instructions on can for recoating times.

IMPORTANT: TAKES **MULTIPLE DAYS** TO CURE
I used this stuff to paint the outside of a custom subwoofer enclosure I made for the trunk of my Audi hatchback. I wanted something that was durable enough to stand up to abuse from all my outdoors gear going in and out of the trunk, and boy did this deliver. It took about 4 coats to get the "textured" finish you usually see out of bed liner, but I got it! Smooth, like others have said, and not rough like Rhino. There is some gunky stuff in the can that actually clumps together to form the texture, so it is CRUCIAL that you shake the can up before you use it, and shake it well. Both my cans had all the gunk condensed at the bottom, and I had to re-seal them and shake to get it mixed properly. So why 4 stars?THIS. STUFF. STINKS.Lord have mercy, get ready to be gassed to death. I painted outside in the breeze, and it was definitely woozy work after about 40 mins. Even better, when it is curing, the scent lingers forever - and the curing process for me was around 7 days after the final coat was applied (humid PNW in April). During the curing process, near ANYHTING (including fingers) will mar the surface and cause the lining to scrape off or ruffle up. Plan for moving before starting paining (I made a stretcher thing out of 2x4's to take it from yard to garage).I recommend applying this stuff with a brush, as rollers cannot pick up the texturizing gunk properly, or layer it effectively. After multiple coats, one of those plastic texture rollers could be used to add more finish, but I found myself pleased with the brush-stroke look. Be sure to buy a throwaway brush to apply this, though - it is impossible to get this crap out of a brush afterwards. It completely ruined the brush I used despite all my efforts to save it. RIP Brushy Brush.Patience is key. I waited 30 mins between each of 3 coats and one day before the 4th.Happy lining!P.S. The sub sounds incredible XD

I am using this awesome bed liner by Rust-Oleum for my 1990 Honda CRX Si re-build & put a couple coats on the bottom of my new tank. I also will update the coating that’s on the bottom of my car to continue the fight against rust. Great stuff, works well with just a simple paint brush & gives it the bumpy look.
