About this item
- ZOMBIE from JOYO's BantamP series is a very compact and portable 20 watt tube head. the immense wall of sounds type that from the huge 150 Watt tube heads but it is coming out of from this little ZOMBIE is so huge and aggressive. your chords will chug and punch, your solos will cut through the mix.
- ZOMBIE amp works great at lesser gain settings and lets you use your favorite overdrives to push it into higher gain with their own unique flavors. because of the High Gain structure of this amp, a noise gate, like our "Gate of Kahn" is a good idea to make your heavy chords nice and tight.
- The ZOMBIE also has a CLEAN channel that can take pedals really well, which makes it flexible and a great little companion for many situations where your "big" head is just not sensible. once you start working with this amp, it will feel as if you are playing through a much bigger head and your friends just won't believe where your sound is really coming from.
- The amp operates with a single 12AX7 tube in the preamp and uses a solid state power amp. the FX loop enables you to put your time based effects (or Phasers, Flangers and Choruses) behind the drive section and keep the effects sharp and not prevent them from being too muddy.
- The icing on the cake is the Bluetooth connectivity is great to practice with PlayAlongs or to learn songs. Careful, the amp is small, but loud… its 20 Watts can be quite a handful. If you want to practice quietly, use the built in headphone out with speaker emulation.

- WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE PURCHASING?

- The ZOMBIE features small, modern sound , heavy distortion sound. It works great at lesser gain settings and let you use your favorite overdrives to push it into higher gain with their own unique flavors.
- If you're looking for a small, loud, heavy, heavy distortion sound, then the ZOMBIE guitar speaker is a good choice. From his appearance, you can find that his temper doesn't look very good. But he also has a slightly gentle side, he likes to listen to music, you can send music to him.
- The ZOMBIE comes alive with its Low gain settings, you may want to use your favorite overdrive pedals to push it even further into higher gain territory with your own unique flavor. Push the drive and you will hear the Zombie scream pure terror. You may actually benefit from an additional Noise Gate to control.
Introduction
- The 12AX7 pre amp tube produces the warm smooth overdrive tones that do not clip tone as a typical fixed state amp head would. The Tube Pre amp has the sonic focus of fattening tone stages and keeps your guitar sounding true to its original tone.
- The FX loop on a guitar amplifier enables you to put your modulated based effects (Phaser, Flanger, Tremolo and Chorus) after the Zombie delivers its drive magic. The FX loop keeps the modulated effects pure and will prevent them from becoming muddied from the amp gain.
- With 2 channels flick the amp to the CLEAN channel and use with your array of guitar pedals. A two channel amp makes a guitar head twice as versatile as alternatives and a makes great companion for musicians at practice or on the road. The zombie will keep it clean and puts everything in place for the drive of your life.
- Headphone Out with Built in Cab Speaker Amp Simulation, the amp has a speaker out rated at 8Ω and can also be operated at 16Ω. Careful, the amp is small, but 20 Watts is loud and will deliver a handful, you get the same great tone as you would from a mega amp.

The good: The high gain side of the amp is amazing! Having a tube in the preamp section gives the high gain channel a definite warmth and push. It's responsive even without using added overdrive and with passive pickups. While I do recommend an eq pedal to get the most out of the tone, it's got great power and tone just as it is. An eq, and a little added overdrive(really recommend the joyo maximum od) and she's a raging beast. Great lows, clear highs and a fine balance with the mids. Power to spare too. I run mine into a Marshall 2x12 with celestion V30 speakers and I can bury a drummer. Easily enough power for small venues and practice. Fx loop in the back and it takes pedals extremely well both through the fx loop and in the front. I do recommend a noise gate at the end of the chain on the gain channel.
The ok: the clean channel is ok. No reverb with the amp but it's clear, clean and responsive again thanks to the tube preamp section. You really can dial in solid clean tones. Add delay and a little reverb via pedals and you can rock out blues and r&b with ease. Both channels take pedals well so if you add a little overdrive you can have dirty blues to vintage rock tones with a twist of a dial. Really inexpensive combo for vintage rock is the zombie 2 on the clean channel and the joyo vintage od. Got the pedal used for $20 at a guitar shop and plugged it in. About 5 minutes later I was jamming on my sg copy playing Sweet Emotion and grinning like an idiot because my cheap little setup sounded so good.
The bad: no built in reverb. That's it. Seriously that's it. That is the only con I can find with this amp head. I've played it extensively, run every pedal combination I can come up with through it, played a semi hollow Gretsch, an ibanez 6 and 7 string through with passive and active pickups, a Les Paul, a Fender Player series stratocaster, an SG copy, and a Charvel hsh super strat San Dimas model, and two squier guitars(50s classic vibe and affinity telecaster). Thing sounds amazing.
Pros:
-Spectacularly portable: It's compact, fairly ergonomic, rugged and
-Doesn't seem to get too hot if shoved up against the wall or other equipment.
-Fast warm up (like 10 sec)
-Labeling and manual are simple and straightforward, connections are solid, bluetooth works well.
-Good clean channel, eviscerating dirty channel (trust me, your friends will covet it)
-Headphone out has speaker cab emulation (great for practicing and recording ideas, laying tracks, ect)
Cons:
-No speaker cab, which isn't a big deal considering the price. You can always use a practice amp and just disconnect the speaker wires from the amp, then build your own cable (or clip the one it came with) to connect the Joyo's output to the speaker directly. Just be sure it's rated for 20 watts or more and you'll be fine. Hit the local pawn shops if you need to, cuz cabs on here are kinda expensive imho.
-I'm not a big fan of the power supply, and I don't like the non-standardized power connection, but neither of these are a dealbreaker to me. It is 12 volts so I suppose you could potentially jam with it off-grid (like a car battery or pedal supply) which might be a cool option.
That's it, I definitely recommend if you're looking for either great out-of-the-box sound, or value, or both. I decided to try based on a recommendation from Glenn at Sound Spectre Studios on Youtube, who is deeply critical of sound quality & overall value when it comes to utility & versatility. He nailed this one for sure, thanks man!

Comes with a footswitch for clean/distorted channels.
My only complaint is that there isn't a line out option. There is a headphone jack but when you plug that it in mutes the main speaker out. Would be nice if there was a standby option. That way you could use the headphone out with the main speaker on or off.
