    INFINIUM Tube Life Multiplier Technology

    V5 INFINIUM

The timeless design and sound of the all tube amp has made its indelible mark on countless beloved tracks spanning the history of the electric guitar. With the ultimate pursuit of those wonderfully saturated and buttery vintage tones in mind, we proudly present the VINTAGE V5 INFINIUM. Sporting a gorgeous vintage look and feel, the V5 serves up 5 beautiful, tube-soaked, Class-A Watts in all your favorite flavors through an amazing, class-leading 8" TURBOSOUND speaker. Additionally, the VINTAGE V5 INFINIUM features an integrated high-definition Reverb; a built-in 2-way Power Attenuator, so you can achieve the ultimate sound at any volume – and an extremely versatile Vintage Equalizer with Tone control for sculpting the sound of your dreams. Enhancing the flexibility of this do-it-all combo, our revolutionary INFINIUM Tube Life Multiplier Technology makes tube replacement incredibly simple – so you can spend more time playing your music.

    Classic All-Tube Design

The VINTAGE V5 INFINIUM features true Class-A technology with a 12AX7 front-end and an EL84 power stage. A masterfully crafted all-tube combo amplifier, the V5 provides sweetly-balanced harmonics and natural tube compression, resulting in the warm distortion and break-up you’ve come to appreciate from those vintage megaliths of yesteryear – only in a much more portable and attractive package. The hand-selected 12AX7 preamp tube in V5’s classic ‘60s-era preamp provides everything from sweetly-purring blues to mind - blowing crunch. Often employed in British-style amplifiers, the EL84 output tube is known for its crisp and chiming tonal quality when pushed to the max, and the V5 harnesses that power via the built-in power attenuator – for the ultimate guitar tone at any volume level.

    High-Definition Reverb

Adding to its impressive list of tone-shaping options, the VINTAGE V5’s high-definition Reverb puts the perfect finishing touch to your signature sound. Adjustable via the dedicated control on the front panel, you can finally achieve any sound you desire – from a subtle touch to the cavernous, natural-sounding reverberation of a large arena.

    INFINIUM Tube Life Multiplier Technology

Years in the making, our INFINIUM Tube Life Multiplier Technology can extend the usable lifespan of your amplifier’s expensive power valves by up to 20 times, saving you huge money and ensuring the integrity of your tone. How? This revolutionary circuit automatically and continuously monitors the performance of each output tube, and dynamically drives it towards the target operating point, for an evenly distributed load.

INFINIUM also compensates for the effects of aging, automatically adjusting current levels to keep your tubes sounding as good as new – even when AC line voltages drop below nominal levels. Similar technology has been used for decades in all-wheel drive cars, where systems modulate the power going to each wheel to improve traction. Just consider INFINIUM Series amps “4-wheel drive” for your guitar.

Excellent Value for an all TUBE Amp
Over the years I have lost count of the Amps I've owned, or have now. But Tube Amps are my favorite. I typically play through Marshall amps. And use a Marshall Power brake (Input Attenuator) to get the sound level down to a reasonable level. My second choice has been a Roland Cube Solid State 25 Watt amp. But I still wanted a small tube, but with plenty of kick, and reverb. If you notice, even a 15 Watt Marshall Head will cost as much as a 100 watt head. So for me, this amp fit the bill perfectly. First, you have an attenuator that allows you to change from, .5 watt, to 1 Watt, and 5 watts. Just always make sure you have the amp off when you switch over so you don't blow a tube. I have a music room for the big stuff, but I like to play in the LR just sitting around. So 1 watt works great. And you'd really be amazed how loud 1 watt can be. The reverb on this amp is VERY good. The gain for this size amp does a very credible job as well, especially with my Bad Horsie. Although with all my amps I use a Morley Bad Horsie 2 Contour Pedal. (Steve Vai) Similar to a Wah, just a lot more control in shaping notes or sound. And a pedal I very much recommend. The Amp itself is very well built and has a classic look to it. All the controls are very simple and straightforward, none of the candy store stuff that to me takes away from a good amp. If you want to add a stomp box, add one, it will work just fine. But this is not a modeling amp. Just a purist dream. A straight tube amp. On the back, beside the attenuator switch it even has a monitor light that indicates when a Tube needs replacing. I've owned Soldano , Marshall, All kinds of heads, and not one has had that feature. The Speaker is a 4ohm 8inch TurboSound Speaker which has a good midrange sound overall. There is also a 1/4 inch headphone jack on the back as well. I personally haven't tried using the jack to plug it into my Headphones yet. But I would like to try and plug it into one of my Marshall cabs, just to see how it sounds. Once I do I will come back and update the review. For me though, the Bugera V5 Infinium is a value and a bargain at $199.00. If you're looking for something to use for around the home, and want a good tube amp, I would definitely recommend this amp. Small footprint, big sound. And if you need more distortion, overdrive, or whatever, just use a good Boss DS1 or a SD1. But I think playing clean or dirty, you'll like this amp as is. I do. And so far, I've played my Strat, Les Paul, and 335 through it. All sound great. Haven't had time to try out any of the others, but I'm sure they'll sound fine too. Give this Amp a try. You won't be disappointed.
