Edit/update: Still love these for the job site. They do tend to scratch semi easily though and I try to baby them as a result. With constant, daily use on the job site, I can get a pair to last a good month before I feel like I’m ready for a new pair. I’ve now owned 3 pair.
One important thing is that these are listed as clear lenses. Technically they are, but they do have a flash mirror coating on the front. This does cause a slight reduction in light passing through the lenses. It makes them appear to have a slight tint to them, but not anything that would be trouble for me at all.
Visual clarity is good on these, and I detect no distortions in the lenses at all.
Not sure how the scratch resistance will be, but I intend to keep them in the included case when they're not on my head, so I'm not too worried. Very happy with these glasses. They look a lot better on than most safety/shooter glasses.
Top reviews from other countries
1. Not fit for purpose. Breaks for no reason at all due to manufacturing flaws.
2. Protective quality of $5 gas station glasses.
3. Cheap Chinese plastic being drop shipped for inflated prices.
4. Price gouging, they are now 5x the price I bought them at.
I bought these and never used them, kept them in the truck. I went to put them on for maybe the second or third time, and the fragile plastic frame went twang and the lens fell out. They feel like Chinese copies, but are legit Smith and Wesson brand. I wouldn't trust them to protect my eyes.
They feel like those $5 glasses you get from a gas station, and after destructive testing they appear to have identical protective properties. I only picked them up because it was about gas station glasses price and to me glasses are a disposable PPE that I expect will break eventually because, well, China. But these were just too fragile to last just thermocycling to 34C max and 8C min in a truck for a year.
I am very disappointed for a S&W product, but the greatest disappointment is to discover that these $13 glasses are now priced at $55. This is price gouging at it's worst. They know they are ten cent Chinese glasses. I know they are ten cent Chinese glasses. I hope now YOU know they are ten cent Chinese glasses and don't buy them. If we keep paying price gouging prices, rather than reporting them to Amazon for it, then we will keep getting price gouging prices.
Actualización... a 60 días de usarlos en la moto uno de los aros se rompió y saltó la mica mientras conducía. Armazón sumamente frágil que se rompió con solo llevarlos puestos con el casco. Peligroso su uso mientras conduces.
