I used some WD40 on the joints, as they were a little stiff when the hinges arrived.
The problem with replacing an old hinge is that you have to drill out the rivits holding the pivot assembly to the ladder frame. And, there is a fairly large rivit flang on the outside of the frame, which is impossible to remove on the already installed ladder. So, I shifted the new pivot plates about half an inch towards the spring to get them to fit without interfering with the rivot flanges. This didn't impact how the ladder unfolds and touches the ground much at all.
I also connect the springs to the assembly before attaching the bolts to the ladder itself since I was working alone. It is easy to pull the long end of the assembly down one at a time to connect the bolt to the ladder. It took about 90 minutes to remove the old assemblies and install the new ones.

In my case, it isn't an exact replacement for what I have, but it will work and is way better than replacing the entire attic ladder.
