The App is very simple, allowing you to connect to multiple Cubes without seeing any indication of a shorter phone battery life. The App also has the ability to see where your last Cube was from a map and has a range finder telling you how close you are to the finder if you are connected.
I would drop the review to 4 stars only because once in a while (although it did not happen to me that often), the finder fails to make my iPhone alarm and vibrate when I'm trying to find my phone. I emailed customer support and they immediately sent me a new Cube (arrived less than half a week) without having to go through a chain of e-mails of debugging the problem.
Very easy to use. You just install the app on your phone, pair it up, and away you go. The default settings are fine, but you can set it up to customize your alerts, quiet times/zones, etc.
It works pretty well. My phone gets super obnoxious when it is 15-20 feet away (basically, when it loses Bluetooth signal) and the Cube itself chirps pretty loud. It was kind of annoying in NYC though when my daughter would wander off a bit in some of the museums we'd go to and it would be disruptive to other people... so I set it up so that the Cube didn't make any noise but my phone would vibrate. Worked pretty well that way.
I like the Quiet Zone since I tend to put my keys downstairs and then go upstairs with my phone. Without setting my WiFi quiet zones, it would set off every time I go upstairs.
Just remember to set your settings properly, because the way this works, it will only update the settings on the Cube itself if it's connected.
If you lose your keys (or child or cat or whatever), you have to get close to the vicinity of where the Cube is... which is Bluetooth range (15-20 feet, in my experience). Otherwise, you won't be able to ring it or anything. Keep in mind how this works, and you can use the GPS for the last-known location in the app to see if you actually left without your Cube-attached thing/person/animal.
Haven't done it yet, but I really like how you can replace the battery in this. I hated Tile's subscription service and being tied to it... I just want to buy a new battery and be able to do it myself without doing any crazy disassembly or soldering.
I'm running firmware 2.21 and using the app on a Samsung Note 8, if that matters to anyone.
This thing is a bust. I am sorry I bought this. I am going to give Tile a try. I have 2 devices. One quit working all together. The other is still working sort of. I have the phone 10 feet from my keys. It takes a while to find them and then says the signal strength is 2 bars. Two bars at 10 feet will be good if I lose my keys in my pocket. I cannot recommend. I will give Tile a try. Hopefully I will get a stronger signal.
I haven't had it that long so I am still trying it out. But with that said I have had mixed results. It can be very slow to connect to my phone. Sometimes it doesn't connect and I have to stop the app and restart it. If I lost my keys this would not be good. If I lost my keys and it was not connecting I would not know if it was because of the device or if my keys where just not around. When it does connect the display circle shows the signal strength at 50 percent. I have my phone 12 inch away. The signal strength should be full. So there is some Bluetooth problems with this. I have 2 of them and they both do the same thing. I have also tried them on 2 different phones both Samsungs and 2 different models. So I don't think it is the phones. I want to like this. But I am not sure. I would not even think about trusting this with a pet.

I was attracted to this product during an amazon sale and the reviews were medium so I thought I’d give it a go and I’m so happy I did. I’ve had it about 7 or 8 months and I love it.
Very surprised at the negative reviews, I can only imagine they are for when you use your phone to find the cube (eg. Keys etc) not the other way round because it works really well finding the phone. A nice and loud ringtone and the phone flashes. (Can all be adjusted in the app to your preference)
The app doesn’t have to be open, and I’ve not tried it when the phone is off. (I imagine the phone has to be on to work the cube though!)
One thing; Bluetooth must be on, which when I first got it I didn’t use Bluetooth for anything so it generally stayed off on my phone to preserve battery but then, I would obviously put my phone down and use the cube to try to find it but it wouldn’t work.
Since then I’ve purchased Bluetooth headphones and use the Bluetooth in my car so I don’t mind keeping it on, on my phone.
I also think it’s much better to be connected with Bluetooth rather than rely on WiFi which dips in and out and wouldn’t work if you were outside your house etc.
I stuck the cube on my bedside table so anytime I misplace my phone I know exactly where to go to find it; my bedside table! And I don’t waste time searching.
I have just bought a second cube to keep downstairs so I don’t have to go upstairs to find my phone, and that works great as well, and I’m about to buy one for a relative who does the same thing as me, putting the phone down and misplacing it.
It comes with a spare battery but after 8 months the original one is still full. (You can see the battery health on the app) and once you’ve downloaded the app, the set up of the cube is very straight forward.
Can’t speak for if you use the cube to find keys or something it’s attached to but I’m so glad it works so well finding my phone.
