We purchased this ionizer along with a Jupiter under sink installation kit.
Along with the typical advantages of alkaline water, we found some rather surprising benefits.
I was in the back yard picking up sticks off the grass and managed to grab a yellow jacket...OUCH!
I immediately went into the house and set the ionizer on full alkaline (PH 11.5) and ran the water over the sting in my hand. The pain immediately stopped, but when I took it out of the water, it came back. I continued to run the water over the sting checking on it with each hand removal until it no longer stung (about 5 minutes). I then removed the stinger with a sewing pin and re-rinsed in alkaline water. There was no more pain and no swelling whatsoever! Amazing. We now take a supply of alkaline water with us camping. Works great on mosquito bites too.
I also noted that anytime a bit of heartburn starts, you just drink a little "daily drinking" water and it's instantly gone.
One more unexpected benefit for gardeners. We always had a terrible time getting spinach seeds to germinate unless planted outside in the early spring. We use Tower Gardens to grow our own veges and like to try and start the seeds indoors and grow them over the winter. On a notion, I placed a paper towel over a plate (folded in half) sprinkled some spinach seeds on it, then covered with another paper towel. I set the ionizer to full alkaline and then used the water from the acid side (PH 3.5) to wet the paper towel. I then placed the plate in the refrigerator over night and then out on the kitchen table, keeping it wet with the acid output of daily drinking. The seeds start sprouting in just a few days and within a week, about 90% of the seeds germinate. Using regular water, the rate was about 10% at best. We now have more spinach starts than we know what to do with.
The only negative noted is that the "cleaning" setting doesn't seem to be effective for cleaning.
