However, wish they had a wide version. I got wide feet unfortunately, so buying boots or shoes is a pain in the a** for me

However, wish they had a wide version. I got wide feet unfortunately, so buying boots or shoes is a pain in the a** for me
I were a 10 work boot and these size 10 fit great.
Definitely get some experience riding in them if you are used to riding in sneakers before you hit the trails. They are much stiffer and you have to get used to the feel of shifting and braking with the boots.
STRENGTHS:
1. Construction - The boots are double stitched, everywhere. I've had friends with MX boots that are glued, and I watched the soles come off the upper and the boots essentially fall apart over time. Luckily, ONeal Elements are stitched all the way around the sole, and the steel toe cap helps reduce the likely-hood of the boot peeling apart - which I have seen on other boots.
2. Comfort - Although These boots don't have ankle pivots, the Element breaks in after a few uses, and allows me enough flexibility to operate the bike well, without getting too floppy. I've worn these boots on long trips 8-10 hours of riding for 3-4 days on mountain trails, I never get blisters or cramps. Just don't try to do any serious hiking or long walks - they are not hiking boots.
3. Color - I got my first pair of ONeal Elements in grey, my second pair in white. I'm so glad to have color choices beyond boring black, I'm so sick of black. I try to get all of my gear in light colors or in white because I ride in a hot and humid climate, every sun ray that I can reflect matters. Besides, white matches my bike - that's a bonus.
WEAKNESSES:
1. Cheap Clips - The fastening clips are cheap plastic, I sometimes fear that I may push too hard on them and break them. Couldn't I get the same clip in aluminum?
2. Water Resistance - These boots are NOT waterproof in any way. The gusset along the opening looks like it should be waterproof, but does NOT stop water. Even when you wash the boots down, you can feel the water seep in. Then it takes a day or two to dry.
3. Breathability - I get hot in these boots, sweat, and it stays in the boot. After about a dozen rides, my boots smelled so awful, I had to store them outside. I washed the inside with pure alcohol and rubbed baking soda in them - which killed the smell. In short, no Gore Tex, means these boots do NOT breathe at all. They are like a sweat box.
4. Slippery toe - The hard plastic on top of the toe means that it will likely slide on your shift lever, it would be good to have the top of the toe covered with a thin layer of rubber or epoxy for more grip.
Summary:
I think these are great boots for the money, I spent about $140 dollars, and got boots that I used dozens of times on long and rough rides in all kinds of terrain. There is room for improvement, but I feel like the O'Neal Element boot is really good value for money, and it shows because I'm already on my second pair, and my friend liked my old ones so much, he bought them off me - and is still using them.

An update: I have been using these boots for a couple months now, and as with many others, the buckles were getting tough to budge. This is caused from dirt and debris getting caught in them. Spray a tiny bit of WD40 or any equivalent onto the metal rods in the buckles and it will close easily good as new! I do this every few rides now and am having NO issues! Save yourself some money and your boots, its simple and costs almost nothing to fix. Also, the boots break in wonderfully after riding for a while, they were originally hard to move in but feel great now.
Original review:
Just bought a dirt bike recently and needed boots, most seem to be awfully expensive, these are some of the cheapest I could find. They fit great (true to size) and feel very sturdy. They are rather difficult to walk around in but I imagine that will improve once they're broken in a bit. Some people have said the straps have broken on them. I haven't faced this issue (but might, who knows) O'Neal sells replacement straps so your boots will not be useless if that does happen. Overall, boots look and feel great, looking forward to using them over summer.
