Connected it to the radio with the 50 feet of the recommended RG-8X coax cable. (per label)
At first the SWR across the channels was in the low 2s.
I had the excess coax coiled, once I uncoiled it the SWR across all channels dropped to 1.0-1.3 (Measured with the internal meter on the Bearcat and an external meter)
I live in Iowa and am picking up skip from south Florida and California.
Have not had many opportunities to transmit yet but have confirmed at least 2.5 miles.
Considering purchasing another for non base station use due to the compact size.

Good points:
1. Very wide banded. (10, 11, 12 meters). Useable SWR on all 3 bands.
2. Lightweight and portable. (1 pound, only 3 feet tall).
3. Very rugged and durable. Thick and sturdy and will not bend or loose shape.
4. Doesnt require a ground. (uses the coax as ground). 25 ft of coax - 1.4 - 2.0 to 1 swr across 10,11,12 meters.
50 ft of coax = even better swr. Note: coax should be spread out, not coiled or overlapping.
Bad points:
1. Slightly low signal sensitivity.
2. Thick design
3. Not tuneable
Truly worth the money and wonderful for apartment or outdoor camping quick setup use. I will be ordering a second one to keep as a backup antenna. Antenna was tested and performed average to good inside apartment building on 3rd floor going through several walls completing 2.3 to 3 mile communication with average signal readings on both transmit and receive and transmit.
Update on previous review. Wed. March 7, 2018
This antenna can successfully be used with a 25 ft coax cable and a 102 inch counterpoise wire clipped anywhere on the ground section of the coax connector. This is somewhat better than using 50 feet of coax due to coax line loss. 1:1 SWR readings where also achieved using this method.
Moved antenna today to middle of my yard. Mounted on pressure treated wood pole about 16 ft off ground. Swr 1.2-1.5 across the board. Tested with my truck cb. Clear signal to 1.5 miles. At 2 miles you can barely hear. Not impressed with range but it's a 25 dollar antenna. Works better since I moved it.
