Customers are mixed about the color of the paint. Some mention that it keeps its color all summer season, the color is deep and dark, and it does an impressively good job at changing the color. However, others say that it's too dark, messy to apply, and has a very orange tint. It does not last long and fades away from them rather quickly.
"...It even rained about an hour after I put it down, and the color didn't fade at all...." Read more
"...It looked great, just like new once I put it on, but it fades FAST. Maybe a month and it needed to be reapplied...." Read more

Customers are dissatisfied with the clogging of the paint. They mention that the colorant is fairly thick and clogs the sprayer nozzle, at the control valve, and permanently. Spraying it was a task and clean up was a nightmare. It takes a lot of time to spray the mulch and the coverage is way off. Customers also say that it easily drips and stains whatever it lands on.
"...The colorant is fairly thick and clogs the sprayer nozzle. I am going to need to find a different sprayer approach for that...." Read more
"Better try and spray in all a day or two, after that it tends to clog up, had to dilute with water on day 3 to get it out the sprayer...." Read more
"...I would recommend this. Only negative was the sprayer got clogged a few times which could have been the sprayer or this stain but not that big of..." Read more

Next time I will use laytex (or some other water proof) gloves that I use for painting to keep the colorant off my hands. (But it did wash off my hands pretty well). I got it on myself as I tried to clear the clogged sprayer nozzle. The colorant is fairly thick and clogs the sprayer nozzle. I am going to need to find a different sprayer approach for that. But I still like this product and will continue to use it. I do wish it was less expensive. Also, as I used it, I found my self wishing the seller made it in green because I would like to spray some parts of my grass!
I do recommend this product.

Once it's opened it gets thicker and thicker and the package says you have 5 days to use it. I bought a deck sprayer with a wider hose and used the largest fan nozzle based on other reviews here. It does tend to gum up the sprayer though. I would recommend having a bucket of soapy water on hand and the tools to disassemble your sprayer to keep cleaning it out handy. With all the unclogging it is a slow process. If you have to open the sprayer under pressure to unclog it it can be very messy. I would recommend having your whole area prepped and then just working start to finish to get it done before it thickens. It does clean up well with water immediately if you have a spill.
In brown it does give the look you've always dreamed of So I think it's worth it. Personally, I would use this and recommend it for brown dye but would rather just top up red or black mulch with a thin layer to get a fresh look. You can see in the picture the stop line on last year's natural mulch. The homeowner was thrilled with the result. I will very likely use this product in the future.
