About this item
- [Performance] The XSound 2.1R helmet speakers offer amazing sound quality, with solid bass and clear highs that rival some of the best full-sized headphones. However, it's important to note that the maximum volume levels (max 124dB) of these speakers are the loudest we have ever made. Use with caution!
- [Music Source] Output power and quality of the device you plug the speakers into will affect the volume and overall sound quality. Use a device with a high-quality output and be careful when adjusting the XSound 2.1R with the added extra volume.
- [XSound Kit] Speaker placement is key for audio quality and volume. The XSound 2.1 includes 3M velcro stickers that will keep your speakers stay in place in your helmet. Align the speaker correctly and experience the helmet audio on a new level.
- [Connect With] The XSound 2.1R helmet speaker uses a 3.5mm audio pin. Compatible with most bluetooth comms, smartphones and mp3 players. Please ensure that your device has a 3.5mm earbud jack/female plug (not compatible with all Sena Motorcycle Headsets). Pending on audio source level, helmet speakers may require volume boost app or a EAR3 helmet amp for some smartphones, Bluetooth comms and other devices.
- [Dimensions] Tuned 40mm drivers. Measures 1.77" (45mm) in diameter and 0.39" (10mm) thin with velcro installed. Varied length Kevlar-reinforced wires stand up to 10lbs of pulling tension. Cable lengths LEFT speaker: 19.29" (49cm) RIGHT speaker: 11.41" (29cm), with 40" (100cm) extension cable.

|
|
|
---|---|---|
1. Test XSound 2.1 sound qualityBefore mounting the speakers in your helmet, it is recommended to test and connect the helmet speakers directly to your smartphone or music player. Use the 3.5mm extension cable and hold the XSound 2.1 speakers to your ears as your music plays. |

3. Make sure there is enough space in your helmet for the speakersCertain brands of helmet and headgear are designed for a tighter fit and may not accommodate our speakers. Please determine whether your helmet can comfortably accommodate the extra 1/2 inch of helmet speaker on each side before your purchase. Modification to the helmet may be required. **XSound 2.1 helmet speakers shown in the image above. Foam spacer can be purchased separately. |

I have two ff helmets, one Schuberth C3-Pro & one Shoei Neotech. I love both helmets & installed the Sena 10u system in both helmets. The Sena system is awesome & looks/fits so well it looks like it came installed from the factory in both helmets.
I use a Verizon Galaxy Note 10 & play music from a Spotify playlist & have been trying to come up with a system that would sound halfway decent & also give me a full time cellular phone connection while cruising on my stroker Harley Roadking with fairly throaty Rinehart exhaust & no windshield. Both systems worked ok at slow speeds but got dramatically harder to hear as I reached highway cruising speeds. The Sena speakers work just fine for cell calls & stuff like GPS turn by turn directions but are really LAME for music. The volume is not high enough to hear music clearly at speed, & there is virtually no bass so the sound is very tinny & cheap sounding.
Since I prefer the Schuberth helmet over the Shoei, I decided to see what I could do about improving the music playback from that setup first. I had seen a YT video about replacing Sena speakers with the guts from a cheap set of headphones & tried that first. The Sena 10u speakers are not supposed to be replaceable, but I cut off the stock speakers & soldered & shrink tubed on the new set. That worked & was a mild improvement in the sound quality, but hardly worth the effort really.
I then started researching higher quality helmet speakers & kept coming up with the IASUS 3's. I had never heard of them, but figured I would give them a shot. I again cut off the existing speakers & carefully soldered on the new IASUS 3's. The Schuberth helmet has speaker pockets that are already dished out etc. so it is fairly simple to velcro any new speaker in place. I couldn't wait to try out the new arrangement which sounded great in my shop with no ambient noise, right after I got done with the wiring.
Things changed drastically when I got out on the road however. What sounded great in the shop sounded terrible at 65mph !! The volume was nowhere near loud enough & one speaker seemed louder than the other. I was so disgusted at that point that I just put the Schuberth aside & started wearing the Shoei with the stock Sena 10u system every day. It didn't sound very good, but at least it had slightly more volume & worked fairly well as long as my speed was under 70mph.
That was where I had left things until just recently. I had stumbled across a few more rave reviews of the IASUS & figured I would try messing with that setup some more as I had nothing to lose. I pulled the cheekpads out of the Schuberth & started messing with moving the speakers around to different locations. I quickly realized I was on to something as the sound was getting better & better with each change I made. I quickly realized the stock speaker cutouts where positioned nowhere near the center of my ears (they are up too high).
To make an already too long story shorter, after 1/2 a day of messing with things my sound is now phenomenal. I replaced my worn cheek pads with a new tighter fit set & then attached the IASUS to the inside of the new pads with heavy duty 3M double sided tape. I spaced them so they are just grazing my ears with the included foam discs covering them. When I took the first ride with the new setup, I was stunned at how good it sounded. The volume is so loud now I actually have to turn it down or it hurts my ears. I get a full sound with a surprising amount of bass & almost no wind noise whatever. After months of thinking the Sena was much too under powered to power these speaker correctly, I now realize that was dead wrong.
After riding with the new mods for a week or so, I swapped to the Shoei helmet to see the difference in sound. The difference is absolutely night & day, the Shoei now sounds absolutely horrible to me. I will shortly be ordering another set of the IASUS to go in that helmet too LOL.
~John
Surprisingly, while the Sena 20s speakers were louder outside the helmet compared to these speakers, the quality of the sound was so much better with those new speakers.
Taking them out on the slingshot revealed their true quality. At 50 mph the Sena 20s speakers made speaking/understanding really hard not to mention music quality was really bad and anything above 50 mph was not viable.
With those speakers there were almost no issues until 80 mph or more, which is to be expected that at some point due to the speed.
In addition all the padding options and self adhesive padding raising the speakers to your ear also made a big difference but to be fair to the Sena 20s speakers, I also compared those after raising them and the same results as outlined above.
What can you expect if you pay ~$600 for a Bluetooth set where the speakers are worth $39, which is the price you can buy those from the Sena website. They should really invest in better speakers or at least offer an option for better speakers.
The install was easy with my helmets and you only need a very small philips screw driver to remove the old Sena 20s speakers and then plug in these speakers into the 3.5mm slot (there are 2 slots, one on each side but only one is the 3.5mm).
My only issue is the power up of the Sena 20s system as it always starts at the lowest volume if you use the 3.5mm speaker output vs their proprietary speaker connector. You have to get used to that and I will contact Sena to hopefully come out with a new firmware to address this.
The only reason for the 4 star on value is the price. Yes, those speakers are better but I think that price is a little bit too high.
I am very happy with them and I can recommend them to anybody. I should mention that I do not use any amplifier as some people are recommending and I am very pleased. You don't need to blow your ears out and you have to be able to listen to your surroundings while operating any vehicle. Not to mention having seen pictures of people having glued their amp to their helmets and it looks hideous.

Au prix de quatre soudures, on multiplie par… l’infini, la très médiocre, qualité des haut-parleurs d’origine. Enfin, on peut écouter de la musique presque dans des conditions hifi.
Je recommande.
Product is quality though and sounds great paired with my sena 30k.
