The only thing to make sure is that you get the correct size. They run true to size and the area where your toes go tapers down towards your pinky toe. My son has these fins as well and for his foot the second toe is longer than his big toe so it contacts the end of the open space. it does not rub or cause issues but can be a problem for some people since the only opening is for your big toe.
I wear size 9.5-10 US yet the size 9.5-10.5 is very tight on my feet. For one, there is not enough room (at least for me) in the instep, or, they are very tight in the instep. That's probably good because they fit tightly. But the main issue is with the vertical room for the toes: there is not enough of it, at least for me. I have tested these fins in the pool. They do have plenty of power, which is very good, yet after a few pool lengths, I had to take them off since my toes were hurting badly due to mostly not enough vertical space to accommodate them.
Thus, I will ask for a larger size. Also, I received a different color than the one I had ordered, which is not such a big deal. The main issue is the fit.
I will update my review once I test the larger size.
Second, about sizing. I wear a men's US size 9. I first bought these fins men's size 8 to 9 US. I liked that the foot was snug, but the toes were too tight. Then I bought the same fin in size 9.5 to 10 US. My toes feel good, but my foot is a little too loose in the fin. I am fluctuating between the two sizes until I figure out which fits best for my foot.
Concerning sizing, if your feet fit snugly in them, that's ok! You're not walking in them! I wear a 9.5-10 in women's, ordered the men's 8-9 as was suggested, and they fit great kicking in the water! And the price was reasonable as well, compared to other fins. I definitely recommend them.
These feel like a pretty heavy kick, but I think that feeling will diminish as I train with them and get stronger.
For reference, the photo shows the Arena fins compared to DaFin's Pro fins. Those DaFin Pros are a super heavy kicking fin, not suitable for long distance swimming, at least for me.
