Customers are dissatisfied with the leakage of the valve. They mention that it started leaking at the gauge fitting, and it won't hold pressure. Some customers also say that the product was defective and had a pinhole leak. The housing resulted in water streaming out of the crack, making the product useless. Customers also mention that the valve spouts water from the body of the gauge, which runs all over their camp site and causes inadequate water supply to the generator.
"...pressure when it did pull water, in turn leading to inadequate water supply to the generator. I adjusted the valve so the gauge reads 20 lbs...." Read more

Additionally, this product has an easy readable gauge so you will know what the pressure is that's feeding to your RV. The gauge is set in oil to reduce the erratic wiggle of the needle, giving you a more clearly understandable reading of the water pressure. The nut located next to the gauge is used to increase or decrease pressure to your RV. Easy to use. Protect your investment. This is a good product and worth the money. I'd rather spend a little more to have the ability to know what pressure my RV is set at, and the ability to increase or decrease pressure if needed. Most of the time, the pressure is pre-set to a good setting so you won't have to touch it. But, the functionality is there if you need it. Let's face it, too high pressure is crazy important to mitigate, but too low of pressure makes running your faucet or taking a shower frustrating.
I installed it on a line supplying a steam generator that advised 20 lbs. inlet pressure at the generator. Adjusting the valve so its gauge read 20 when the generator was not pulling in any water (i.e., "off" downstream from the valve) resulted in near zero indicated gauge pressure when it did pull water, in turn leading to inadequate water supply to the generator. I adjusted the valve so the gauge reads 20 lbs. when water is flowing (i.e., "on" downstream from the valve) and that resulted in a 30+ reading when not. Properly adjusted to pressure in the flowing state, the water supply problem is solved.
I'm sure this isn't a universal problem and has to do with supply volume and velocity, unit demand, etc. in my application but it's good to be aware of.
