Strong Gripping Power with Resistance
3M Plastic Emblem and Trim Adhesive permanently bonds plastic and metal emblems, rigid plastic parts, taillight lenses, trim strips, and other parts for interior and exterior applications on vehicles.
3M Plastic Emblem and Trim Adhesive is a solvent-based adhesive that resists environmental exposure such as water and heat to maintain a solid bond. Made to dry clear, the adhesive can be used to bond transparent or translucent plastics (See packaging before use.)
Easy to Use, Quick Acting
This adhesive is easily applied directly to surfaces from the tube. This single-component trim adhesive is ready to use without any mixing. Simply apply to a clean surface and then let dry. A quick-acting formula, this adhesive has a working time of approximately 10 to 30 seconds, sets in approximately 15 minutes and fully cures in 24 hours. The fast-acting formula is perfect for affixing trim.
A Strong Bond on Challenging Surfaces
Applying metal and plastic emblems and trim requires an adhesive that creates a permanent bond that won’t loosen over time. 3M Plastic Emblem and Trim Adhesive is made to create permanent adhesion between dissimilar and non-porous materials such as plastic and fully cured painted automotive surfaces, making it a popular choice for affixing emblems and trim on vehicles.

Customers are mixed about the adhesion of the bonding adhesive. Some mention that it's a very good glue and an all-around strong adhesive. However, others say that it is runny, thin, and not flexible. They also say that the adhesive fails to adhere the trim on their car back to the body and does not stick to painted metal well.

Needed to glue selected letters from my vehicle badge that fell off from their location on the trunk lid. Cleaned the area well with soap and water and then again with some alcohol. Marked the bottom of the letter placement on the trunk with some masking take, applied adhesive to each letter and placed it accordingly. Let it dry for a few hours before removing the tape beneath the letters. Good as new!
It did exactly as advertised. I had to reattach a lens cover on BMW twilight. The one thing that would make it much much better is if it came with a nozzle to get a nice straight bead. It was rather clumsy the way it comes out of the opening.
This adhesive works great, and it's strong. It also eats away paint, which is supposed to happen. It does this so that the plastics can bond. Without that, the bond would not be as strong with paint in the way.
Just be very conservative when using it, maybe use a Q-Tip to apply it in harder to reach areas in small amounts.
The reviewers that complained about the paint coming off probably used too much and got it where they didn't want it.
Please know what you are buying and know that if your adhesive doesn't destroy paint, you may not be getting something very strong. All of the glue I've used in the past does the same thing with the paint if it worked well.
So if you are going to buy glue, this is cheap, and it works excellent.
Used to stick replacement grill badge on my Vaux Insignia (notorious for the original dropping off). Brilliant stuff. Once glued, held badge in place with masking tape until set. I left it for several hours, to be on the safe side. Set rock hard. Has since survived car washes, pot holes, engine heat and general car vibrations. Hasn't budged. Highly recommended
