To start off, I want to point out a major complaint; some people have difficulty understanding the instructions manual. If you've bought any internationally-sold bike products (this, and Continental for example), but most importantly this, you'll see that on the back there's about half a dozen languages, so instead of sending you a small novel, they give you clear pictures; you don't have to be artistically inept to understand them.
Second, the installation process is very easy. Bear in mind this is my first bike computer; it only took me about 10 minutes to look at the pictures and install it. A brief run through; install the sensor/ magnet a few inches away from the rim, and make sure the sensor is less than finger width away from the magnet, but not touching. Next, make sure the computer is installed on your stem parallel to the ground (if you have your stem 'slammed', this won't be an issue). Of course this is only for installing, not setting up the computer ~see manual~
Aside from these, the whole shebang really bangs. Now I'll sum up the good and bad:
Pros:
Very cheap
Very accurate
Computer is easy to remove, take almost anywhere
Easy to read/ understand what's shown on-screen
Very small, very light (for all the weight weenies)
Easy and quick setup
Cons:
Computer is VERY small, can easily be lost if misplaced
Extremely hard to see screen at night, requires good amount of light to see anything
Ziptie mounting of computer/ sensor is somewhat flimsy, sensor may move if not tight enough
Not bluetooth or ANT+ compatible, only works with given sensor (not much of a con if you ask me)
Something I read, though not sure if true, is that electronics like a phone or light may interfere with proper performance, will update on that later
Things to keep in mind:
I just received this today (01/07/21) so I may have missed some things, will update after putting in some miles. Also, the computer may be placed on a compatible strap or mount, so that's another thing. Another important thing is the screen not having a back light, which is a big issue for night riding, especially in dark areas. Something I wouldn't per se recommend, but would do if you're willy and very, very confident, is to apply super glue between the sensor and it's mount; again I would only recommend if you're REALLY confident in the placement of your sensor (may require parental supervision).
All in all, if you're looking for a good beginner bike computer at a competitive price, you landed in the right place. Though it may have one or two flaws, they can be completely worked around.
